Local and International Movement Grows to Stop Massive Cetacean Capture

| Laura Bridgeman
Topics: Captivity Industry, Dolphin and Whale Trade, Dolphins, Orcas

The Namibian Government has not yet decided whether they will allow a notorious Russian ship to capture hundreds of marine animals and send them to China, a place where, sadly, the captivity industry is booming.

Local activists and international organizations have been working tirelessly to stop this proposal in its tracks. A petition to the government has jumped to over 10,000 signers, and IMMP, along with other organizations have sent letters to the government.

On October 14, local activists staged a protest of around 150 people and delivered petition signatures to authorities (video below).

Please write to the Namibian government telling them not to sell wild orcas, dolphins and other animals down the river.
